International soprano Margarita Castaneda is an emerging talent from Colombia and residing currently in Amsterdam. Margarita recently performed the role of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte in Casino Baumgarten in Vienna.

She has also sung Euridice Glück´s Orfeo ed Euridice with the Nederlandse Reisopera (concert version), Zerlina Don Giovanni in Weikersheim - Germany, Papagena Die Zauberflöte and Susanna Le nozze di Figaro in Vienna.

Margarita Castañeda past engagements include La Musica and Euridice in Orfeo (Monteverdi) at Teatro Colon in Bogotá and Tischgesellschaft in „Jedermann“ at the Salzburg Festspiele.

Margarita is frequently invited as soloist in concerts and oratoria. She has also given Lieder recitals in different venues around the world. Margarita loves to sing Spanish songs and zarzuela. 

In 2014 she finished her vocal studies with distinction from the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she studied Voice under Prof. Claudia Visca. Margarita was the recipient of many Scholarships such as the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis Scholarship in Teatro Colon de Bogota and the scholarship from The Mazda Fundation for Arts and Science. She was invited to participate in the International Winter Festival of Music in Campos de Jordao in Brasil.
